Pipe Dream Rum
Good rum and surfing. Two things not typically associated with Ohio, yet here we are. What some would call a Pipe Dream, others call reality and making the most of what you have. Our rum begins life as the same molasses as our Writer's Block rum and then gets laid down in barrels until deemed ready. Extra long fermentation with natural bacteria present creates an added depth of flavor. Batch 1 was aged in a single brand new charred American Oak barrel. Unlike most rums which are aged in used barrels, the use of a fresh barrel imparted a lot of flavor in relatively short time. Future releases will vary between batch and barrel size but the goal will always be the same, to produce outstanding rum in the Midwest. As for surfing? Unfortunately the Great Lakes produce the best waves in Winter, good thing we have wetsuits...
